How Do Dermal Fillers aid anti-ageing?

Glasgow Facial Aesthetics have been performing a variety of non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatments since 2007 including Dermal Filler under the supervision of Mr Jason Fisher.

It is a well-known fact that as we get older, the underlying tissues that keep our skin looking youthful and plumped up begin to break down, often leaving laugh lines, smile lines, crow's feet or facial creases over the areas where movement occurs.

This is where Dermal Fillers can help fill in these lines and creases, and in doing so, temporarily restoring a smoother, more youthful-looking appearance. When Dermal Fillers are injected beneath the skin, the fillers plump up creased and sunken areas of the face. Additionally, they can also improve fullness in the lips and cheeks.

At Glasgow Facial Aesthetics, we perform our Dermal Filler treatments using Juvederm® Ultra. We find that these products are the best on the market and noticeably reduce lines and wrinkles, enhance lips and add definition to your chin and cheeks. They are made from hyaluronan, an organic substance found within your skin which helps to restore the skin’s natural look.

They work by mimicking the hydrating and lifting effects of hyaluronan, keeping the skin moist and elastic - and you looking and feeling great. Following a series of light injections, your skin will be supported and flattened for a smoother, softer look.

Dermal Fillers

JuvĂ©derm® ULTRA is a new generation of Dermal Fillers from Allergan, a world leader in surgical and non-surgical aesthetic products. It’s a natural, biodegradable gel that flows easily into your skin, instantly filling out those troublesome lines leaving a smooth and natural look and feel. So, you’ll notice an immediate difference after just one treatment.

Typical Dermal Filler Treatments

For those people who have never experienced a dermal filler treatment, there will be many questions to be asked. I know I would certainly want to know more before I received any treatment.

At Glasgow Facial Aesthetics, we like to put our client minds at rest and will be only too happy to answer any questions you may have about dermal fillers, botox or any other facial treatment. So please contact us.

We are frequently asked about the procedure involved before, during and after dermal fillers treatments. So here is a quick reference guide of what to expect.

Before treatment
Start by making an appointment with us for a FREE consultation by either calling us on 0141-959-2562 or emailing us on .
Once booked in for your consultation, be prepared to discuss your treatment expectations. After discussion of what you wish to achieve and assessment of your treatment needs, Jason Fisher will recommend which treatment is most suitable for you.
After the consultation, and if you are happy to proceed, Jason will help you complete a medical assessment and you will need to sign a consent form before treatment can progress.

During treatment
The dermal filler is injected into the skin in small amounts using a very fine needle. The gel provides natural volume to smooth away the appearance of lines and wrinkles, enhance facial shape, or create fuller lips. Dermal fillers improve the elasticity and texture of skin, restoring and maintaining the skins hydrobalance.
The treatment is quick, typically taking about 15-30 minutes. Treatments with dermal fillers do not affect facial expression and the benefits can normally be seen instantly.

After treatment
Dermal fillers are biodegradable, which means they will naturally disappear in the body. To ensure an optimal and long lasting result, a top-up treatment is recommended six to twelve months after your initial dermal filler treatment. This will be discussed during the consultation with Jason. And a follow-up appointment can be arranged.
After a treatment some reactions might occur, these include; are slight redness, swelling, itching, bruising, pain and tenderness. The reactions are generally mild to moderate and usually disappear shortly after injection. They typically resolve spontaneously within one or two days, but for some treatments they may last longer.

Treatment of Excessive Sweating

Treatment of Excessive Sweating

'Excessive sweating' (hyperhidrosis) can be a miserably debilitating condition. The significant limitations it imposes mean quality of life is compromised, as sufferers are unable to feel confident and comfortable when engaging in everyday activities. Hyperhydrosis most commonly affects the under arms, the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. The good news is that it can be treated effectively.

Even if you don't suffer severe problems like those described above, it may still be worth booking an appointment with Glasgow Facial Aesthetics on 0141-959-2562 to chat about your options, since even patients with only mild excessive sweating have reported how much their quality of life has improved after treatment.

Injections with botulinum toxin ('Botox') is an extremely effective option for the armpits which lasts for around 6-12 months. At Glasgow Facial Aesthetics, we apply a special numbing cream to make this procedure painless and feedback from patients has been extremely positive.
